Obedience / Rally / Canine Good Neighbour / Canine Good Citizen
The first sporting dog to ever obtain an AKC obedience title in the 1930’s was an Irish Water Spaniel. Many IWS love to demonstrate their bond with their owner with precise heeling, sits, stays, downs, and much more advanced commands. It’s like equine dressage for dogs!
Rally Obedience is more focused on loose healing and less exacting than regular obedience. When you give your verbal commands, you can encourage your dog with extra comments, and use hand signals and body language.
Canine Good Neighbour in Canada and Canine Good Citizen in the USA are great ways to assess a handler and dog's relationship, and to demonstrate good manners in everyday situations. Many Luckpuddle dogs have achieved these titles.
